Press Conference of MAN AND WIFE and LIKE SOLDIERS, LIKE CHILDREN

KAFA+ Next D, which has 3D production training for the last three years, held press conference of 3D shorts, Man and Wife and Like Soldiers, Like Children at CGV Sinchon on November 25th.

KAFA+ Next D is a course of Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) to retrain moviemen about advanced image technology since 2012. It currently gives 3D and ScreenX production education. Man and Wife and Like Soldiers, Like Children are directed by KIM Hyun-woo and LIM Bo-young respectively. Both are from production of 9th KAFA+ NEXT D.

Man and Wife shows disturbances from alien conspiracy with middle-aged married couple in a state of ennui. One day, a young woman visits the wife (PARK Ji-young) while she is suspicious that her husband (JUNG In-gi) has an affair. But the woman says her husband is an alien. The film crosses various genres like spy, comedy and sci-fi using 3D images. Director KIM Hyun-woo said, “I was inspired from Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968),” and expressed sentiments for his first 3D film making, “It took more time and effort because 3D works need more limitations and workload.”

Like Soldiers, Like Children is about a great grandfather who thinks he is 16 years old and his six-year-old grandson. Dong-hui (CHOI Woo-jin) visits his great grandfather (YOO Soon-chul) in a hospital with his parents, but they escape from the hospital while the adults are unattentive.

The film proves 3D images are good for psychological description as well. Director LIM Bo-young said, “There were a lot of variables during filming, even though I did much more preparation than any other works. I realized 3D is available for different genres for this movie.”
