The
Korean Film Council (KOFIC) will launch the online screening of Korea’s latest genre movies from the 17th
Puchon Fantastic International Film Festival (PiFan), which opens on July 18th. The largest genre film festival in Korea, PiFan showcases a variety of genre films such as fantasy, horror and thriller movies from around the world. The event is drawing attention not only from movie fans but also from various audiences and leading overseas film festivals.
KOFIC will offer the Festival Screening: PiFan2013 which will feature Korean films selected for the festival online for overseas film professionals who want to know more about the latest Korean genre films. Running the Festival Screening as part of its online screening program on its English homepage, KoBiz, KOFIC has previously offered the online screening of Korean films selected for the 2012
Busan International Film Festival’s Wide Angle section, the 2013
Jeonju International Film Festival and the 2013 Cannes International Film Festival.
KoBiz’s Festival Screening: PiFan2013 will screen about 50 films including
Love Scene by KIM Doo-heon, LEE Jeong-won and MOON In-dae,
Young Artists by KANG Tae-woo,
Go, Stop, Murder by KIM Joon-kwon,
Southern Superhero Showdown by RYU Hoon,
The Truth by SEO Seoung-man,
Oldmen Never Die by WHANG Cheol-mean,
Incomplete life: Prequel by SON Tae-gyum and KIM Tae-hui, as well as selected works from the
Korean Academy of Film Arts and the PiFan Youth Film Academy.
Festival Screening: PiFan2013 will begin on the
KoBiz online screening website of the Korean Film Council on July 18th simultaneously with the opening of the Puchon Fantastic International Film Festival.
