Sessions Held in Jakarta, Kualar Lumpur and Bangkok
The Korean Film Council (Director KIM Eui-suk) is holding Open Days highlighting Korea as a film location for overseas companies from February 25th to March 1st in Jakarta of Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia and Bangkok, Thailand.
The events are jointly organized by the Korean Tourism Organization and KOFIC will introduce the program "Foreign Filming Location Incentive Support Program" whereby up to 30% of production budgets will be subsidized in cash. Following KOFIC's introduction of this program, there will be presentations of the Korean Tourism Organization's location filming support service as well as the Seoul Film Commission's location service for Korea.
Also, four Korean companies, including Film Line, Boram Films, Live Motion Pictures INC and TPS Company, will take part and give presentations as well as hold business meetings with their South East Asian counterparts in an effort to bring South Asian films to shoot in Korea.
The aim of the event is to promote Korea as an attractive shooting location with various support policies and expertise in production as well as know-how in providing services to overseas film companies. By attracting more overseas film shoots, Korea is expected to improve its national brand image.
