Below Mudeungsan Mountain, which embraces the UNESCO-designated columnar joints of Ipseokdae and Seoseokdae rocks, is a city where diverse cultural and historical heritage coexist along with beautiful natural landscapes. Selected as one of the top Local 100 (100 local cultural attractions) Gwangju offers a variety of charms for location production.

Location Highlights

* Mudeungsan Mountain (Ipseokdae Rock), located in the heart of the metropolitan city, reaches an elevation of 1,187 meters above sea level. Centered around Cheonwangbong Peak, it boasts magnificent mountain scenery with landmarks such as Seoseokdae, Ipseokdae, and Gwangseokdae, as well as beautiful and diverse landscapes such as primeval forests, rock slopes, and recreational forests.
* Geumnam-ro is a central road connecting the intersections near the Culture Complex Station, with various transportation and cultural facilities nearby. It serves as a composite space for everyday life, culture, and art, intertwining the historical April 19 Revolution and Gwangju Uprising sites with the city's streets, arcades, and waterfront parks.
* The Asia Culture Center (ACC) stands as the focal point of the Gwangju Uprising and serves as an institution for enhancing the cultural capabilities of Asia through cultural exchange, education, and research. Furthermore, as a center of exchange, it showcases a variety of interdisciplinary cultural content.
* Yangnim History and Culture Village is a location where there is a concentration of modern cultural heritage. Since the arrival of missionary Clement Owen in 1904, it has served as the site where Gwangju first embraced Western modernity. This space preserves traditional cultural assets where Western-style modern architecture harmonizes with hanok (traditional Korean houses), and its beautiful alleyways make it one of the most popular places to visit in Gwangju.
* The Gwangju Content Cube, along with the Gwangju CGI Center, serves as a central hub for the production and distribution of immersive content to foster growth in the industry. It houses a virtual extended reality (VX) production studio, a multi-experience (MX) production studio, and a mixed reality (MR) studio, providing a space that combines both production infrastructure and business functions for immersive content creation.
