In the bustling city of Seoul, ‘Youngjin’ is doing his conscription as one of social service personnel. He always wears the same clothes to work and is never on time. It’s because he spends sleepless nights under the concrete highway bridge.
A few days later, ‘Jinhyun,’ a social worker managing Youngjin at the welfare center, encounters him on the way to work. It turns out Youngjin doesn’t have a room in his father’s house, so he is practically homeless.
Jinhyun lets Youngjin crash at his place. The more time they spend together, the more Jinhyun feels connected to him.
One day, an old madam named ‘Soonrye’ visits the welfare center. She pesters Jinhyun to consider her circumstances and give her what she wants. From then on, she goes to Jinhyun several times to vent her feelings about her son.
Another day later, Jinhyun is swamped with work. He is so overwhelmed that he goes home without checking on Youngjin. When Youngjin finally shows up at his doorstep, Jinhyun can’t help but rant about his suppressed emotions to Youngjin.
After that incident, Youngjin never goes upstairs to clock out. Two days later, he stops showing up to work.
