In April 2014, high school students, Sung-chul, Se-jun, and Song-yi get on Sewol ferry. Se-jun puts his favorite bicycle in the passenger terminal and goes to the ship. Students and passengers on the ferry enjoy traveling with fireworks. But the next morning, suddenly the ship starts to crack and sink. In a chaotic atmosphere, there is an announcement to wait inside, so students and passengers becomes not being able to escape from the sinking Sewol ferry. Upon hearing the sinking news, all family members rush to the Pengmok harbor. They wait only for the rescue news, however, the harbor is still calm. Eventually, many people sink into the sea with the Sewol ferry. After the tragic incident, Sung-chul who escaped from the ship alone leaving behind his friends goes to find Se-jun’s bicycle, which has been abandoned at the ferry terminal.
