The nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan has been gradually disappearing from people's memories. But what we personally found in Japan was quite staggering. Measuring radiation levels is the first thing that locals do every morning instead of enjoying their coffee. A grand¬mother cries thinking about the future of her grandchil¬dren, while elderly parents agonize over whether to force their daughter to have an abortion or not. This film is about a trip of 17 ordinary Japanese to Chernobyl, which they visited in order to get a glimpse of the future that is awaiting them now. It sheds light on the aftermath of the nuclear accident in earnest for the first time.
