In 1987, the workers at Hyundai Heavy Industries formed what is considered to be Korea’s first democratic labor union, during the heyday of Korea's democratic movement. Over the ensuing years they struggle to preserve the union against government repression and move the labor movement to higher ground. This film recounts the story of these workers and their union from 1987 to 1991.
