<If You Were Me 2> is an omnibus feature film planned and produced by the National Human Rights Commission of Korea following <If You Were Me> made in 2004 in which five film directors participated under the theme of human rights. <If You Were Me 2> is comprised of five short films also concerned with indifference and discrimination toward minority or otherwise disenfranchised communities, such as North Korean refugees, the physically challenged, “informal workers”, and Chinese-Koreans. “Seaside Flower” (dir. PARK Kyung-hee) is the story of a little girl, Eun-hye, suffering from Down’s syndrome; “Hey, Man~” (dir. RYOO Seung-wan) deals with commonly held misconceptions about discrimination that males have; “A Boy with a Knapsack” (dir. JUNG Ji-woo) follows the life of a boy who fled from North Korea; “Someone Grateful” (dir. JANG Jin) speaks out about what ‘informal workers’ really are, by describing - with a touch of black humor - a crime investigator torturing student activists; and “Jongno, Winter” (dir. KIM Dong-won) tells the tragic story of a Chinese-Korean resident of Seoul who died on the streets of Seoul in winter of 2003.
