KIM Bong-doo is an elementary school teacher whose only interest in his job is the bribes he takes from the parents of his students. He gets sent away to a school in a remote country village in lieu of a suspension. He dreams of escaping back to the city and does everything he can to get the small school closed down. But, the innocence of the villagers and his students begins to change his plans.
