Gil-jeong enters the military service and is deployed to the police station as a riot police. While on duty with the riot police, he is killed by the Molotov cocktail thrown by his friend Hong-sik. Won-hee loses her ability to speak from the shock of his death and becomes a hemiplegic. Hong-sik is sick with guilt and tries to nurse Won-hee back. Although he loves Hae-soo, he commits himself to helping Won-hee recover.
