As soon as her husband comes back from forced requisition as the country is liberated, Korean War takes place. While they are annoyed by Communists Army during the war, her first daughter Jeong-Hee gets out of home resisting against her grand mother. When her youngest son Jeong-Ho can enter a college thanks to Jeong-Hee who appears after many years in 1960, In-Sun feels happiness for a while. But her happiness doesn't last long as her husband Chun-Bo brings home a barmaid Ok-Hwa. After her children go up to Seoul, one day Chun-Bo dies of heart disease.
