The festival where the world's finest documentaries come together
EIDF is one of Asia's prestigious documentary festivals. It began in 2004 and was presented by EBS, Korea's representative public television. Since 2004, EIDF had highlighted documentary films which were focused on Asia or were made on the Asian continent. As years pass by, we extend our focus to a variety of countries from around the world. We also select numerous documentaries in order to express diverse cultures and raise questions on human rights. Along with showcases of outstanding non-fiction films on the EBS TV channel, special events such as public screenings, forums, seminars, and photo exhibitions are also held during the week of festival.
The festival with social conscience
EIDF launched to stimulate alternative responses to the rampant commercialism dominating today's media. EIDF concentrates solely on ducumentaries for over 8 hours per day for the entire week of EIDF. EIDF selects today's best documentaries that look at the past, the present, and the future of the world in depth and provides an opportunity for filmmakers to communicate with the audience through their work.
