Cree Pictures is a film production company founded in 2007 by JUNG Jong-hoon. After a remarkable debut with sexy rom-com <Petty Romance> (2010), which scored 2 million admissions and was later adapted as a musical, Cree Pictures made the headlines when it teamed up with 20th Century Fox to produce the first Korean film entirely financed by a Hollywood studio, <Running Man> (2012). With 1.4 million viewers, the box office performance of the film didn’t live up to the expectations but was still encouraging enough to justify further investments from 20th Century Fox in Korea. Cree Pictures eventually found success again in 2015 with the buddy cop film <The Accidental Detective> and its 2.6 million admissions. Its follow-up <The Accidental Detective 2: In Action> (2018) fared even better, reaching past the 3 million-mark.
