Among Korean international film festivals, the Seoul International Women's Film Festival is a one-of-a-kind and significant event that presents new ideals and alternatives from a feminist perspective. The festival helps to build positive values in women and plays an important role in developing a network between Asian and other nations. SIWFF promotes and exhibits Korean women's films internationally by discovering and supporting women in the film business. It also aids the development and diversification of the Korean cinema industry. SIWFF helps to the creation of a balanced Korean culture in order to promote the Korean national image by producing future-oriented, alternative culture.

Every year the Seoul International Women's Film Festival selects the most urgent women's agenda and prepares a program of film screenings and intensive discussions on the topic.The theme of the 25th edition of the section is “Images, Describing Resistance.”
Queer Rainbow
New queer films from around the world, to rethink social customs and human rights issues from a feminist-queer perspective and explore queer film aesthetics and representation.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of Korea's first female director Park Nam-ok, this special program examines the cinematic legacy of Park Nam-ok and Hong Eun-won, as well as the pioneering history of women's films at the time.
- In Memory of YOON Jeong-hee
A special screening to honor and commemorate the late performer Yoon Jeong-hee, tracing her remarkable performances and presence in Korean cinema history.

Films that reflect on the lives and works of women who "shout and/or whisper" to the world through artistic achievements such as literature, music, fine arts, and so on, and that do so through the views and aesthetic endeavors of female film artists.
Documentary Ock Rang Award Film
Section presenting the winners of the Documentary Ock Rang Award, a documentary production support program that began in 2002.
Film × Gender
Section presenting short films made through the production support program Film X Gender hosted by Korean Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education and organized by SIWFF.
Barrier Free Screening
Screenings of films offered with descriptive subtitles and voice commentary for visually impaired and hearing impaired people.
