The Jeonju International Short Film Festival discovers and introduces outstanding short films produced domestically and abroad, contributing to the diversity of film culture for audiences both in South Korea and around the world.
In 2018, amidst a significant increase in interest in short films, the organizers felt the need to provide more opportunities for local filmmakers and artists in regions where the chances of screening or exposure to the general public were relatively limited. Thus, the Jeonju Short Film Festival was conceived.
The festival aims to promote empathy and communication through dialogues with the audience after film screenings. The festival is dedicated to the development and dissemination of local culture, the establishment of a forward-looking artistic ecosystem, and the increase in cultural and artistic enjoyment for local residents.
